Hello!

I like to think of the art of doll-making as inspiring and calming. I fill each doll I make with love, and hope that this loving energy will carry through to the people who bring my dolls into their families. Welcome to my journal, where I share my creative adventures. Hope you have a pleasant stay!

Miss Taissia - a Child of Spring

Miss Taissia - a Child of Spring

I’m Taissia - I was born on an early spring day, when the sun was already warm and the air was filled with light scents of still hidden flowers. I haven’t seen other seasons yet, but I’m pretty sure that nothing is as beautiful as spring. I can feel it everywhere: swirling in the air above and in the earth below. I am going to close my eyes and listen….. listen to how the spring is waking up!

Miss Taissia is about 17” tall and is made with Swiss jersey and stuffed firmly with eco-wool. Her face is needle-sculpted, and her hair is made with beautiful Angora goat mohair, wefted by me and sewn on top of a crocheted mohair cap. Her cheeks and lips are softly blushed with a beeswax crayon, and her deep blue eyes are embroidered with cotton floss. Her flexible knees allow her to sit freely, but she can’t stand.

She will come wearing a short-sleeved Liberty of London cotton blouse (and an additional organic cotton long-sleeved jersey shirt), a pair of cashmere overalls, decorated with floral embroidery, a cardigan, hand-knitted with a cloud-like combination of Italian superkid mohair and silk, a pair of cotton underpants, long cotton socks, cashmere shoes, and a silk velvet scarf.

Taissia is a collectible doll, she needs to be handled with love and care.
