Hello!

I like to think of the art of doll-making as inspiring and calming. I fill each doll I make with love, and hope that this loving energy will carry through to the people who bring my dolls into their families. Welcome to my journal, where I share my creative adventures. Hope you have a pleasant stay!

Kiki

Hello, let me introduce myself! My name is Kailani Rose, but everybody calls me Kiki. I think it’s a very cute nickname and I love it!

I’m a natural fiber art ‘girl’, about 16 inches long. I’ve been made with Swiss cotton and stuffed firmly with organic wool. I have a needle-felted face, embroidered deep brown eyes, and painted freckles spilled across the nose and cheeks. I have slightly curly hair which is goat mohair.

I’ll come to you wearing my favorite silk dress trimmed with a piece of antique lace, that my grandmother found in Italy many years ago while visiting the Arezzo Antique market. The dress is wonderful for a warm summer day, but also I love wearing it under my other dress, which is made with lovely Liberty fabric. It’s a while before Autumn officially arrives, but I have to be prepared for it. I love going for a long walk on a foggy morning and listening to the crisp sound of dried leaves under my feet. So, I’ll bring along a cozy sweater, hand-knitted with Italian silk and mohair yarn. My wool shoes will keep my feet dry and warm.

I’m ready to travel and can’t wait to hug my mom!

xoxo,

Kiki
